Veteran Brazilian star Neymar Jr. could be in line for a sensational return to European football, with Juventus now being loosely linked to a potential move for the Santos forward.

Although there is currently no formal negotiation in place, speculation has been fueled by comments from Juventus and Brazil centre-back Gleison Bremer, who openly welcomed the idea of playing alongside his compatriot in Turin.

A Frustrating Spell in Brazil

Neymar, now 33, returned to his boyhood club Santos earlier this year following an injury-ridden stint with Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League. He initially signed a six-month deal with the Brazilian side, reportedly with the goal of rebuilding fitness and exploring a return to Europe in the summer transfer window.

While he chose to extend his contract until the end of the Brazilian domestic season, recent developments suggest a change in direction, with reports indicating growing dissatisfaction and the possibility of an early exit. Interest from Marseille was recently dismissed by club sources as “complete nonsense,” but the speculation around Neymar’s future continues to grow.

Bremer Calls for Neymar at Juventus

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Bremer was asked about Neymar’s situation, particularly in the context of several high-profile veterans like Luka Modric and Kevin De Bruyne making moves to Serie A this summer.

“Of course! It would be great to have someone like Ney here at Juve,” Bremer responded.

While the comment was likely more of a personal endorsement than a transfer hint, Italian media outlets have explored the feasibility of such a transfer, especially considering Juventus’ past success with marquee signings like Cristiano Ronaldo, who also joined the club at the age of 33.

Could a Transfer Really Happen?

The similarities between Ronaldo’s Juventus move and the idea of signing Neymar are mostly symbolic. In reality, Neymar would command lower wages, making the transfer more financially sustainable — but only with sponsorship support and careful wage structuring.

At present, Juventus are not believed to be actively pursuing Neymar, and no formal talks are underway. However, the idea of giving the Brazilian star a route back into the Champions League may prove attractive to both player and club if circumstances change.

A Waiting Game

With Neymar’s situation at Santos seemingly growing unstable, a potential return to Europe remains on the table. Juventus may not be positioning themselves just yet, but with the transfer window still open, the possibility of a late twist cannot be ruled out.

For now, Neymar remains in Brazil — but as history has shown, the narrative surrounding him can shift quickly.
