Chelsea are maintaining strong interest in Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers, as the club continues to explore major signings before the transfer window closes.

Rogers, a close friend of Cole Palmer, has emerged as a key target for the Blues. Despite already spending close to €250 million this summer, Chelsea remain active in the market under new manager Enzo Maresca.

According to Matt Law of The Daily Telegraph, speaking on the London Is Blue podcast, Chelsea’s interest in Rogers is serious:

“In Chelsea’s ideal scenario, they’d sign Morgan Rogers. They’re definitely still interested.”

However, Aston Villa have made it clear they are not willing to sell, with the club reportedly placing a very high valuation on the 21-year-old. Rogers’ current Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €66.2 million, though any potential deal would likely require a significantly higher offer. Chelsea are believed to be considering a swap deal to reduce the financial outlay.

Villa’s situation under the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) could become a factor later in the window, potentially forcing a reconsideration of their stance.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are also monitoring other targets. Defender Jorrel Hato is reportedly close to a move, while the club is pursuing Xavi Simons to strengthen their midfield. A move for Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho has also been mentioned.

While a deal for Rogers remains uncertain, Chelsea’s interest is clear as they aim to finalize several key additions in the final weeks of the window.
